GIGS Rules & Regulations

GIGS is a Social Golf Society formed in the hope that strong friendships will be forged from our group participation in golf.

 

Membership of GIGS is via Application and Organiser Approval only.

Fees are paid Annually from February for the golfing year March-November and are non-refundable.

GIGS2020Founder Memberships will be due for renewal Feb 2022.

Renewal will be via Organiser Invitation only.

 

Membership fees contribute to the necessary non-refundable deposits required to book our golf at the relevant clubs, plus towards our admin and operational costs. Members will not be allowed to participate in monthly events if fees have not been paid.

 

The Organiser reserves the right to expel any member whose conduct has been prejudicial to the interest of GIGS. 

 

If a Member resigns from GIGS, any subs paid will be forfeited. 

 

Rules

The rules of play in GIGS events and competitions shall adhere to those adopted by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and subject to the local rules of the Club on whose course we are playing. 

Slow Play and/or Dangerous Play must be avoided, at all times.  Please try to keep up with the group ahead and let the group behind through if you fall behind.  A warning shout (Fore) must be given for any errant shots if at all in danger of reaching other players.

The Society cannot be held responsible for any claim against a member or a guest arising from participation in any match, meeting or event organised by the Society.  We advise that appropriate Insurance be taken out by each individual member.

 

Dress Code & Clubs - Golfers must have their own golf equipment, have suitable golf shoes and adhere to golf course dress codes as advised.
